If there were ever a time to BRING IT, sartorially speaking, the Met Gala red carpet was it. This is not the event to play it safe with a simple slip dress or traditional gown.
Every year, the Met Gala, hosted by the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute, has a theme and each attendant is expected to don a LEWK inspired by said theme. This year’s theme, “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” called for ensembles inspired by the relationship between handmade and machine-made garments.
Now that you have a little background behind the event, take a look at my favorite looks from the night. (I “judge” based on how well attendees follow the theme. Why wouldn’t you have fun with fashion, especially on a night when the wild and wacky are celebrated?!)
