Chris and I are currently doing some serious couch hunting. We need a new couch desperately. Since our two dogs practically live on the couch, buying a leather sofa is non-negotiable.

Choosing a couch style was hard, but we knew for sure that we did not want the typical plushy, oversized styles that flood the market. We decided a Chesterfield sofa in a caramel or tobacco color (like the one pictured above) matched both of our preferences.

Chesterfields are traditional style sofas with masculine elements and classic details like rolled arms, nail head trim and tufting. It’s the streamlined, sophisticated version of those awful “puffy” couches. We both like well-worn vintage items and a Chesterfield will fit the best with our eclectic home.

But right now, it feels like we’ve exhausted every possible resource. I don’t know where else to look for an affordable couch. So, for the time being, I’m going to drool over these beautifully styled living rooms with Chesterfield sofas and glean inspiration.
Here, a more traditional pairing with a Chesterfield style chair, is balanced with a mid-century style coffee table and bohemian rug.
I love the mix of rustic, vintage elements with this traditional couch.
The Chesterfield style is so versatile. Here it’s mixed with mid-century elements in utter harmony.
