This Friday, I’m showcasing five looks from five designers’ PFW runway shows. I promise after this I’ll stop with my PFW obsession…until fall that is.
Elie Saab: I guarantee we’ll be seeing his designs on the celebs come fall and awards season. There is not a single look from his show that I abhor. These are the most impeccably cut/tailored garments I’ve ever seen.
Hermès: Perfectly Parisian is about the best way to describe Christophe Lemaire’s collection. From the outstanding outerwear to the modest, tailored hemlines, this show seemed to imply simplicity is best.
Valentino: This design house always knocks out of the park. It’s one of the shows I most look forward to seeing. The details make all the difference in Valentino garments. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are definitely onto something.
Alexander McQueen: There are really no words to describe this 10 piece collection. A few that come to mind though are: ethereal, angelic, fantastical, medieval. Sarah Burton, you continue to impress and inspire me.
Lanvin: I love how Alber Elbaz played with silhouettes from the 20s in his Fall 2013 collection. Silky dresses, tailored but not dowdy coats, skirts and pants, and ladylike looks from head to toe looked fresh, wearable and “cool” as the models’ necklaces say. Elbaz updated classic elegance for the younger set.
