Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn, my absolute favorite person/celeb of all time, would have been 84 on Sunday. Sadly, she passed away on January 20, 1993, only six days before I was born. Next to my mom and grandmother, Audrey influenced my life more than anyone. tumblr_mh3l64CG8k1ruykaqo1_500

I am constantly inspired by her grace, elegance and poise. No one today carries themselves like Audrey. Her dedication to her family, her career and UNICEF remind me that I can do and have it all (Family, career and service are high priorities for me as well.) I adore not only Audrey’s style but her individuality too. She rocked a pixie cut and cigarette pants when every other actress had flowing curls and voluminous skirts. Audrey kept her private life private and knew when to take a step back from acting. She carried herself with a natural sophistication matched only, perhaps, by her contemporary Grace Kelly.

Audrey

So ends my rant about the lovely Audrey Hepburn. If I could meet anyone, dead or alive, Audrey would easily be my first pick. As it is though, her legacy inspires me daily. I couldn’t be more grateful for such a wonderful role model.

Please read this article from Harper’s Bazaar about Mrs. Hepburn. It does her more justice than my amateur blogging.
